On Monday, September 1, the official starting signal was given for the construction of Nimwest in Nijmegen. The commencement was celebrated under the leadership of Mona Keijzer (Caretaker Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning), Noël Vergunst (Alderman of the Municipality of Nijmegen), Erik Esveld (Van Herk Group), Bertil Poelman (Koopmans Bouwgroep), and Cyrille Duchateau (NEOO).
Nimwest is an ambitious inner-city redevelopment project on the west side of Nijmegen station at the former UWV site. The plan provides for a high-quality urban mix with 452 homes, 154 short-stay apartments, commercial spaces for hospitality and retail, and 121 parking spaces.
The project is being developed by NEOO on behalf of Van Herk Group and designed by WRK Architects. The realization is in the hands of Koopmans Bouwgroep. Completion is scheduled for 2028.
