NEOO, Wereldhave and the Municipality of Tilburg opened the first part of the redevelopment of downtown Tilburg on Thursday, Sept. 21 2017. Part of this first phase included the opening of Hudson’s Bay, HEMA’s new concept store, Costes and Sissy Boy.
Over the past year, teams have been working hard on the new stores and new connections in the downtown area. With the completion of the work of all the architects, interior designers, carpenters, masons, painters and plasterers, the completely renovated and revamped premises and the first part of a new shopping street are ready to welcome its guests.
The municipality of Tilburg wants to make the center distinctive and more attractive. An inner city that does justice to the sixth city of the Netherlands and that continues to grow. With logical walking routes, a varied and complete range of stores, housing and an attractive green public space.
Frederikstraat has become the new covered connection between Pieter Vreedeplein and Heuvelstraat. The second part of Frederikstraat – which will connect Heuvelstraat with Emmapassage – will follow later. This runs through the facade of the current Expo building, a municipal monument, and will not be covered.
