Investore Prime Retail and the French sports retailer Decathlon have signed a lease agreement for a 3,500 m² store located on the first floor of the Opgang shopping center in Amsterdam-Noord (part of the Boven ’t Y retail area). NEOO is managing the leasing and complete (internal) redevelopment of the Opgang shopping center on behalf of Investore. The lease to Decathlon is part of a larger reorganization operation of the shopping center, with MediaMarkt having already been relocated to the ground floor in the fall of 2018. The public opening is expected to take place at the end of 2019. NEOO is currently working on the planning for the final phase—the reorganization of the vacant units previously occupied by Blokker, Big Bazar, and Bruna, as well as an upgrade of the passageway—work on which is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
After the store at the Johan Cruijff Arena, the Amsterdam-Noord location will be Decathlon’s second store in Amsterdam and its 19th store in the Netherlands. Decathlon is a global market leader in the sports sector, and the new store in Amsterdam-Noord fits perfectly with Decathlon Netherlands’ long-term vision.
